Answered Prayers

At Gwynedd Mercy University, the lacrosse players who attend our weekly bible study were challenged to invite new people, specifically girls, to the group. The problem is, as they said, "they have no friends," and "they don't know any girls."

So I started to pray, "God bring us some cheerleaders for the group." Now, in my mind, we were praying for students to champion the group. Fast forward to last week, and we had two new girls show up at our bible study. Neither of them knew Jesus personally, so I met up with them separately at Starbucks to share the Gospel. When I asked them why they chose Gwynedd, they said it was for the cheerleading team. This reminds me of the words of Jesus in John 5, "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working." I think of all our prayer times and prayer walking on these college campuses, and I am reminded that God cares more about college students than we ever will. Oswald Chamber says that "prayer isn't for the greater work, but that prayer is the greater work."

Thanks for your prayers. God is working at Gwynedd Mercy and also Montgomery County Community College, where we have had many Gospel conversations. Last week, we hosted a giveaway table with water bottles, granola bars, candy, fruit snacks, and bible verses with Gospel messages to students. One particular student asked if she could open this gift bag in front of us, and when she did, she was visibly touched as she read the personal message and bible verse. She said, "This was exactly what I needed to hear."
Your prayers and support make a huge difference! Please keep us in your prayers for our Fall Retreat at Camp Hebron that is coming up. Special shoutout to our great Delaware Valley University football team Chapel Assistant, Gary Schillo (middle photo). He is knocking it out with great biblical wisdom, experience, and teaching! Thanks so much for all you do!
