Not a moment to waste...

Happy November! Thanks for your partnership from the time we first met, until now! I am writing to give testimony that God is working on the college campuses in Greater Philadelphia. Your prayers and support are more important now than ever.

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now." -Philippians 1:3-5

I recently read a story in a devotional about astronaut Christiana Koch, who in 2019 spent a record breaking 328 days at the International Space Station. She was roughly 254 miles above the earth for almost a year. She witnessed sixteen sunrises and sunsets each day and was busy with all kinds of daily tests, experiments and assignments. But hour by hour, minute by minute, her days were kept track of by a red line that moved across her display screen, inching along and letting her know she had more to do. Not a moment to waste in space.

While we are not traveling at the speed of about 17,500 miles per hour (about 10x the speed of a bullet), we are on an important assignment. We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves and the most loving thing we can do is share the message of Jesus. Paul says to the Ephesians, "Be very careful, then, how you live... making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil."

God is instructing us to fill our days with intention and care for the people around us. On the college campus, we are doing just this through "tabling." This is where we strategically place a table in foot traffic for the purpose of engaging and connecting with students. This Fall, we have done several tables, handing out free things like water bottles, snacks, stickers and candy. We have had many Gospel conversations and given personal notes of affirmation and encouraging bible verses. The key is to be in the same spot week after week so students know that this is where the Christians are who are caring for them week after week. In the grand scheme of things, whether floating through space or feet firmly on the ground, God can use you and me to make the most of every opportunity.

Ways to Connect and Support

  • This is a way you can keep up to date with college events and pray for them, as they happen.

  • This will give you access to the blog and picture archives.

  • Giving and seeing the great things God is doing on the college campus is a blessing.

  • If you are a current partner, thanks so much!

  • If you are not, please pray about supporting us monthly (anywhere from $25-$100 a month).

  • Invite your small group or Sunday school class at church to adopt a campus ministry (Delaware Valley University, Gwynedd Mercy University, Chestnut Hill College, or Montgomery County Community College). We can set up a time to prayer walk a campus, meet students, host a dinner, or support an upcoming outreach event.  Just let us know where you want to direct your focus.
