Spring Break 2025: Disaster Relief & Rebuilding in Spruce Pine, NC

What a week serving the Lord in Spruce Pine, North Carolina! Our college students from Delaware Valley University and Montgomery County Community College had no idea of the damage caused by Hurricane Helena.

In September 2024, this storm caused 30-foot river swells that wiped out everything in its path and flooded the entire downtown area. Our group worked on tree branch cleanup and flood debris removal, filling up many giant dumpsters. The students were excited to operate chainsaws and leaf blowers.

During our evenings we played group games, had worship and devotionals, and visited Gem Mountain and a local horse farm. We were so thankful that a small group from Penn State and an adult group from Keystone Fellowship joined us.

Our groups really bonded and we look forward to doing many more mission trips together. Thanks for all your prayers and support!

Ways to Connect and Support

  • This is a way you can keep up to date with college events and pray for them, as they happen.

  • This will give you access to the blog and picture archives.

  • Giving and seeing the great things God is doing on the college campus is a blessing.

  • If you are a current partner, thanks so much!

  • If you are not, please pray about supporting us monthly (anywhere from $25-$100 a month).

  • Invite your small group or Sunday school class at church to adopt a campus ministry (Delaware Valley University, Gwynedd Mercy University, Chestnut Hill College, or Montgomery County Community College). We can set up a time to prayer walk a campus, meet students, host a dinner, or support an upcoming outreach event.  Just let us know where you want to direct your focus.
