Campus Ministry During a Pandemic

Unfortunately, there is no manual or seminary class one can take in ministering during a pandemic. Early in March, many of our students were planning and going on their spring break trips. My daughter, a student at Millersville, came home for the break and was not able to return to campus. So many of her things were left behind and so many of her plans were left undone.

Yet, God on His throne, knew. Some would say He planned this, some would say He allowed it. All I know is that He promises to do great things through it. We are all being stretched and challenged. This will all bring character. This will help us to mature into the godly men and women He created us to be.

So how do we do campus ministry during a pandemic? The same way we were doing it before! We know God is good and His plans are perfect. We trust Him. We share the love of Jesus with everyone, although now it's through Zoom or parking lot gatherings from the safety of our cars. We bring hope and joy to the world. It is certainly a stretch and a challenge, but we believe God is using us and our students to impact the world with Jesus.

Please be in prayer for our college and community. Montgomery County Community College just became a test site for the COVID-19 virus. We are planning on making encouraging signs for everyone on campus - the Army National Guard, medics, doctors, nurses, and of course, all who are coming to get tested. Please pray that these signs draw people to Jesus… that when the Holy Spirit speaks, they all have ears to hear and eyes to see the loving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for your care and support for our college students and campus ministry!

P.S. We are holding a food drive for students living away from home- if you want to share some food or encouraging notes, please send me a text! We are running the food drive from this Sunday through Wednesday and have two drop-off sites.
