Christmas with the President

Merry Christmas - the season is upon us. I don't know about you, but I love everything about Christmas. I put up all the lights on the tree and outside in the yard by myself in the cold and rain, not because I enjoy it, but because it lights up the darkness. My neighbor stopped me and said my yard looks like a Christmas wonderland. This is hopefully true of my house in the neighborhood, but also my life with my neighbors.

Christmas affords us the opportunity to talk openly about Jesus. After all, the name Christ is in Christmas. Did you know that this is not Jesus' last name but His title? In Greek it translates as "Anointed One" and in Hebrew, "Messiah." We are celebrating God coming down to earth to save us from our sin, and to be our Messiah. What great news that everyone needs to hear!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6

At Montgomery County Community College we ended the semester with a big Christmas party. We invited the entire student body to come celebrate with us. Thankfully, some students came that we had never met before. The food was great, the games were fun but most importantly the Gospel was presented. Jesus was declared as the Anointed One and our Messiah. Oh, and also the President of the College came. So glad that she supports our Christian club and joined us for the celebration.

Thanks for your partnership in the Gospel - Have a Merry Christmas!!!!
