Every fall semester we look to take as many students as possible on a Fall Retreat. The reason is that fall retreats are a great place to encounter God, grow closer to others, figure out what is important, and to recharge your batteries. This fall retreat was no different. We took almost 30 students from Montco College, Del Val University, Gwynedd Mercy University, and Chestnut Hill College to Camp Hebron in Halifax, Pennsylvania.

Due to daylight savings time, we got there after dark. It was so much fun hearing the students talk about how cool it was to see so many stars and how bright the moon was. We really need to get away and see how God has created the universe. On the second day, we did a lot of fun activities like hiking part of the Appalachia Trail, horseback riding, disc golf, and many other things.  We also had group competition among the other colleges. We had so much fun bonding and making new friends.

The highlight for me was participating in the teaching. We did a series of talks and lectures on Leadership through Influence without the position. Meaning, we don’t need an official title to be a leader but just use the gifts God has given us and start making a difference right where God has us. My part was sharing about how we are in relationships and how we can leverage those relationships to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28.

Thanks so much for your prayers for this retreat. The Gospel was shared, our groups spent time in worship and prayer, we broke bread together and had so much fun together.

We look forward to the next adventure God has for us.
