Kicking off the Summer

We are kicking off the summer with some lawn games, great food, worship around the fire, fellowship, and bible study. It is so exciting that college students in the Greater Philadelphia area want to meet up to do this on a regular basis. Some drove over an hour to get here. It is great to see this body of believers, also known as "the church," come together and encourage one another in bible study, worship, and prayer.
"What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us and indeed our fellowship is what the Father and with His son Jesus Christ." -I John 1:3
Our discussion this night was based around Romans 6, where the apostle Paul talks about our wages of sin equaling death but the gift of God is eternal life. This hit home as all the college students are working summer jobs and very intent on earning wages. The great news is that God doesn't give us what we deserve but gives us the exact opposite in eternal life through Jesus Christ. My favorite part of the time together was that as we were wrapping up, a student asked if he could quote Romans 9. Memorizing all 33 verses he showed the discipline and hard work that is required for such a task. We all cheered him on as he spoke one verse at a time and one phrase at a time. Inspiring to say the least.
We look forward to many more powerful campfires and worship nights together. Thanks for investing in these college students' lives. They are here because you're invested here! How can we pray for you this week, this month, and this summer? We would like to pray alongside you. If you are ever interested in prayer walking around a college campus, let us know.
