Making a Difference for Ukrainian Refugees

Recently we had a student post this on social media: “I prayed, 'God, please send a miracle! We really need one now.' He said, 'I did. I sent you'” (John 20:21). As the unfortunate events of Ukraine have unfolded we have watched from the sidelines wondering what we as Montco students could do. We prayed about how God could use us to make a difference, ease suffering, and share the love of Jesus. We decided to host a free movie night at a local theatre to have students collect things we could ship to Ukraine Refugee Centers. We made signs and flyers, manned a promo table, and shared the vision of what we could do collectively. Most importantly we prayed.
God provided a local theatre that loved our cause, He provided funding from the college, He provided students to attend (more than we prayed for) and lastly God provided a tangible gift of collectables that we can send to Ukrainian Refugees. It might not seem like a lot in the grand scheme of things but for our little team of students at Montco, it is a big deal.
Thanks for allowing us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We had two Ukrainian students from our college attend and one shared a heartfelt thank you speech, telling us about her hometown in Ukraine and a little bit about her family that is still there. We are praying for Anna’s family and all the other people affected, that God will give them the strength, faith, and comfort they need today.
