I don’t know about you, but I love Christmas. Everything about this day is exciting and worth celebrating. It is amazing to me that Isaiah prophesied that this day would come almost 700 years in advance.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

This is a two-part blessing for us.  A "child is born" is referring to the human side of Jesus' birth and the fact that he lived a life on earth just like you and me.  The "son is given" is referring to the divine side of Jesus being a gift from God. He is the Wonderful Counselor in our lives. He brings us power and might in Him. He is our Everlasting Father and our Prince of Peace.

So, if you are not excited yet… take some time to reflect on this verse. And one last thing: How many times have you regifted something? I know I have passed along a candle or two in my life. Jesus is the best “regift.” As your Christmas joy takes off, please pass this love story of Jesus on to your family and friends. He is the reason for the season and the gift that keeps on giving!

Praying you have a blessed Christmas!
