Please Pray for Rodrigo Carrillo

My heart breaks for people with special needs. Rodrigo (Alex) has a incurable disease and has already lived passed his life expectancy. He is a former student of mine. I have the privilege of being his friend. His new home is the Inglis House (formerly The Home for Incurable Diseases). I just recently visited him and he asked me a tough question: "Why would God make me blind? I already am crippled and dying, why would he do this to me?"

What a hard question. We ask this about God all the time, but in Alex's life he really has good reason. I reminded him about Job and others in the Bible in whose lives God allows tough things to happen. In Job's life, he restored what was lost; in John the Baptist's life, he went into eternity. God doesn't have to give explanations. We need to trust and believe that he knows what is best. This is such a hard thing to do, but so worth it.

Will you lift up my friend Rodrigo to the Lord? Ask God to restore his vision, ease his pain and use him to encourage others.
